General Produce - Sacramento's long-standing food distributer General Produce turns 80 years old this year. The produce company was founded by a Chinese immigrant three generations ago and has remained in family hands since its inception. We'll speak with the current owners of General Produce Company about their connection to regional farms and restaurants, and the early years of doing business in Downtown Sacramento.
"Green Fire" - Aldo Leopold changed the state of conservation with his book "The Land Ethic." He called for the reshaping of our view of "community" to include the natural elements around us - or "the land" - encouraging a personal relationship with the land. A new documentary, "Green Fire" will premiere on KVIE2 this month. We'll talk about Leopold's work with the film's narrator and Leopold's biographer, Dr. Curt Meine.
"Moving Mountains" - EMH Productions presents "Moving Mountains," the story of a retired casanova romancing the women of his condominium complex. Though he not only shares his physical companionship, he also urges the women he meets to see themselves as beautiful and vital and to go out and "move mountains." We'll talk about the play with director Amy Kelly and actors Elise Hodge and Lonon Smith.
